Welcome to Reading’s newest and oldest

authentic neighborhood pub!

Enjoy pub style comfort food served in an authentically restored 18th century log house. The Speckled Hen is modeled after the country cottage pubs of the British Isles.

It boasts two working fireplaces, tavern tables with upholstered benches, a beautiful wooden bar and a radiant red walled parlor with cozy appointments. The atmosphere is perfect for sipping cocktails and chatting with friends.

The new menu, a collaborative effort of Henry and Chef Tim Nagle, offers a selection of traditional dishes such as bangers and mashed and shepard’s pie, and local favorites such as battered dipped fish and chips and buffalo wings. Pub grub includes sandwiches, burgers, and baskets. Make sure to check out Prime Rib Night for $12.95 with $3.00 pints!

Every third Friday of the month is One Shot Friday featuring Legacy Brewing Company with your chance of getting a specialty brewed beer available only that night at the Speckled Hen. Our pub has an ever-changing selection of eight beers on tap including micro brews, imports and other finely crafted beers and ales.
